Translucent Tubes

Tungsram translucent tubes made from 99.99% alumina and sintered at very high temperatures (1800-1900°C / 3272-3452°F) under reducing conditions.
Tungsram high-purity translucent alumina offers properties nearly identical to sapphire at considerably lower cost.

All translucent tubes are sized to customer specifications and are available in the following dimensions:

  • Diameter: ∅1.5 to ∅25.4mm (∅1/16” to ∅1”)
  • Length: up to 700mm (up to ~28”)

 

Plugs

Tungsram plugs used at High Pressure Sodium lamps to closed the tubes. There is a small diameter hole on the plugs that provides the place of the electrode in a later lamp manufacturing process.
In the case of monolith and XO products, one plug is already assembled at the ceramic plant, which is sintered with the extruded tube. The other plug is being assembled at a later stage in the light source factory.
Potential pressed components are sized to customer specifications and are available in the following dimensions:

  • Surface area: Up to 600 mm2 press (up to 0,93 square inches)
  • Diameter: Up to ∅27,6 mm (up to ~∅1”)

CMH Arc Tubes

Tungsram CMH arc tubes are injection molded product for the different version of CMH products between 20 watt until 400 watt.
Tungsram CMH arc tubes made from 99.99% alumina and sintered at very high temperatures (1800-1900°C / 3272-3452°F) under reducing conditions.
Potential injection molded components are sized to customer specifications and are available in the following dimensions:

  • Weight: Up to 30 g / product (up to 0,066 lbs)

Barstock

Tungsram barstock are extruded rectangular rods for dental application which made from 99.99% alumina and sintered at very high temperatures (1800-1900°C / 3272-3452°F) under reducing conditions.
All barstock are sized to customer specifications and are available in the following dimensions:

  • Diameter: ∅1.5 to ∅25.4mm (∅1/16” to ∅1”)
  • Length: up to 700mm (up to ~28”)

Brackets

Brackets are sintered and visual checked for our customer. To ensure surface quality, we use zyglo fluorescent penetrant inspection to filter out cracks and discontinuities.
Tungsram has the base capability for the injection molded translucent brackets product which made from 99.99% alumina and sintered at very high temperatures (1800-1900°C / 3272-3452°F) under reducing conditions.
