We are pleased to announce that on the 20th of September the Hungarian Civil Aviation Authority issued the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) Part-145 Maintenance Organization Approval Certificate to our Kisvárda plant.

For time being the Certificate valid only for shroud grinding of the GE90 and CF6 engine families but we plan also to extend capability on GE90 and CF6 engine tube inspection and cleaning works this year. In addition, we also strive to get the certificate of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the same activities as soon as it possible. We believe that by extending our capability list we will be able to repair engine components issuing independent Form-1 certificate not only for GE but the whole Europe including region’s important engine repair bases as well as the significant Base Maintenance Organizations. Soon we plan to expand our capability with engine tube repair, inspection and machining of engine blades as well as adding new types of engines to our list like GEnx.

This Certificate is a milestone in the more than 100 years history of Tungsram as the Company has become a key player in Hungarian aviation industry.
